Needless has no account, no tracking and no ads. The app doesn’t send any data to us or anyone else. Everything you choose or write in the app stays on your device.

What the app stores on your device

So that Needless can make fitting suggestions and show your archive, the app keeps a database on your device with: your answers to the optional questions (time, interests, place), which quests were suggested to you and whether you accepted, skipped or finished them, your ratings and notes, and your settings.

This data never leaves your device. We have no access to it and receive no personal data from you.

No internet connection

Needless doesn’t need the internet. The app uses no servers, no analytics, advertising or crash reporting services, and doesn’t download any content.

Daily reminder

If you switch on the reminder, the app asks for permission to show notifications. The reminder is scheduled only on your device. No push service is used. You can switch it off at any time in the app’s settings or your device’s settings.

If you’ve already accepted a quest that day, the reminder mentions its title. Depending on your phone’s settings, the notification may also appear on the lock screen.

Export, deletion and device backup

In the settings you can export all data as a file. The app opens your device’s share menu for this. Where you send the file is entirely up to you.

“Delete all data” removes everything Needless has stored. Uninstalling the app deletes its data from your device.

If you have turned on a backup on your device (for example iCloud or Google), that backup may also include Needless’s data and restore it when you reinstall the app. This depends on your settings with Apple or Google.

App Store and Google Play

When you download Needless, Apple or Google process data under their own privacy policies. We have no influence on this.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, as well as to data portability and to object. Since we don’t receive any data from you, we usually don’t hold any. If you have questions, feel free to write to the email address above.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Changes

If something in the app changes that affects privacy, we’ll update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version.
